THE MONASTERIES OF ALCOBAÇA E BATALHA

 The Monastery of Alcobaça, XVII century monument was initiated by the Cistercian order, there lie the sepulchres of King D. Pedro and Queen Inês de Castro, it is classified by UNESCO as World Heritage, a national monument appointed one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal.

 In the village of Batalha, the Monastery also classified by UNESCO as World Heritage was built in honour to the Virgin Mary for the victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1386, won by D. João I, King of Portugal, once again a national monument and appointed one of 7 Wonders of Portugal.
 

THE WINE MUSEUM

 Alcobaça's wine museum is considered one of the national Viticulture Heritages, located in an old wine cellar, José Eduardo Raposo de Magalhaes built this winery in 1874 to implement and develop his wine production JEM.

 The building is a museum of significant heritage for the wine making evolution in Portugal, it was enriched with allusive artefacts from the years 70s, 80s and 90s, honouring our wine culture it is the most complete museum in the country presenting a universe of more than 8,500 artefacts with an enormous historical, scientific, industrial and ethnographic value from the XVII century to the beginning of the XXI century.
 

THE MONKS GARDENS | Team Building

 The monks gardens, located in Alcobaça, are connected together by the Environmental Botanical Gardens, an area with 8 hectares where you can enjoy the nature and the cultural park wile guests concentrate on educational activities recreating the ways of life of the monks of the Cistercian order represented by local animators.

 The activities are carried out differently, visit the Granja Convent - pedagogical farm; Monastic workshops - Craftsmen; The Friars farmyard - where you can find birds; The Monks shop - regional souvenirs; The Museum of Conventual sweets, Historical theatrical Plays, The river for canoeing practice; eco karts; guidance paths; slides; rappelling; climbing; archery and traditional games.

VISIT THE CAVES OF ALVADOS, SANTO ANTÓNIO AND MIRA DE AIRE

 In the natural park of Serra de Aire and Candeeiros, we find the caves of Alvados, Santo António and Mira de Aire.

 Despite its proximity the natural caves of Alvados and Santo António have different aspects worthy of a visit, they show you unique images of an underground natural world formed over thousands of years, enriched by several natural lakes, small streams and the impressive rooms filled with stalactites and stalagmites.

 The Mira de Aire Caves are one of the 7 national natural wonders and they are considered the capital of the Portuguese Underworld.

 Equipped with a speleological helmet and light the tour can be done in the magnificent natural dark environment, visitors discover the cave as if they were the pioneers.
